Easy Wedding Reception Steps and Ideas

One of the most important and cherished events of your life is going to be your wedding, so it’s safe to assume the event will be quite special and extravagant.  This is all-encompassing, even extending to the details of the reception after the marriage service.

If you are getting prepared for planning a reception, here’s a look at how a standard one usually goes.

Normally the reception begins within 15 minutes of the couple exiting the auditorium.  After arrival guests are greeted and seated.If you have a seating plan, this plan is followed. If this is not the case, the guests can locate a seat of their choice and also choose who to sit with.

After this, make sure that the primary sponsors and parents are led to their seats at the presidential table.

Ask that entourage members, except parents and primary sponsors gather around the receiving area once most people are sitting down.  They all must get together at once.The order in which the wedding party is called is: flower girls, ring bearers, secondary sponsors, groomsmen and bridesmaids, and lastly, the best man and maid of honor.

After this, the couple makes their grand entrance, to the accompaniment of effects such as confetti, bubbles, fog, etc.

Once the couple is in, properly acknowledge the parents and the primary sponsors, allowing them to stand and wave. The duo can be asked to tend to the ceremony of the cutting of the cake at the spot reserved for this purpose.  Followed by the champagne toast will be a release of doves.Next comes a prayer of thanksgiving done by the maid of honor. Then there is the meal, and the guests are invited to take pictures with the newlyweds.  The next thing usually done is moving over to the table with all of the food and making sure everything is run smoothly here. Once everyone has food and once they’re all seated, the guest performer does his or her number.  Should there be an audio-visual display, it shall follow.

After this, the best man does a grand toast, and then come words from well-wishers for the couple.  Only a few of these should be allowed, otherwise it will become too busy.Once this is done, the Bride has a dance with her father, and then the groom steps in and enjoys a dance with his new wife.  Other dancing may follow.

Near the end of the event comes the bouquet-tossing ceremony, in which the bride tosses a bouquet of flowers to the single ladies; there is also a garter ceremony, in which the groom shoots the bride’s garter to the single men. Dont ever forget unique wedding favors or winter wedding favors!

There are many ways to do this event.  Not all wedding receptions are the same, as some do not incorporate live musicians.  Others include a dance where the groom dances with his mother.  By just changing things a small amount, you can achieve the middle ground by not boring your guests, but not upsetting them either.
