If you’re a writer starting out with online marketing, you may not really know where to start. But don’t get discouraged. Although there are a lot of things you’ll need to learn, starting with smaller pieces of the puzzle and working your way up will get you where you want to go. Once you get your feet wet with making money by writing for web marketing projects, you’ll find things will get easier over time.
The first thing you must learn starting when you want to make money with writing is to honor your own learning process. Consume as much information as you can, be careful not to stress out. Eventually, you will be get where you need to go, and you’ll be able to count on your own judgment. Keep in mind, too, that help is always available if you get stuck. As an example, you don’t have to memorize the spelling and capitalization of common Internet terms. Links to capitalization, spelling and definitions of important Web terms are available all over the Internet. Just bookmark a solid site and use it when you need it. Yet the grammar, spelling and capitalization rules aren’t the only concerns when your writing will be used to make money on the Internet. You also want to maintain high standards of honesty and integrity. Good examples of what can happen if you don’t are the Site Build It affiliate reviews. From what I understand, Site Build It affiliates wrote bogus reviews and got them to the top of the search engines for popular keywords so they could get people to buy an overpriced package of services. That didn’t sit well with some of the Internet marketing community. Many people wrote reviews about the bogus reviews and there was a big upheaval. I too wrote a review because I felt that’s what an online community member should do. Ultimately, it became clear that the Site Build It situation wasn’t as bad as it first looked although it’s not the biggest bargain out there. The lesson I learned was that the higher calibre the project, the less likelihood there will be that you’ll get attacked. So, if I were going to give any advice it would have to be that you should research an online project before you take it on as a writer.
