The Internet Has an Abundance of No Cost Scrapbooking Supplies
Because there are so many Internet-savvy scrapbook graphic designers today, the Web is full of free scrapbooking images that can be downloaded for no charge. That means all you need to know is how to do an Internet search and download files and you can find all the graphics you need to create delightful scrapbooks. That caused popular artist Mary Englebreit to remark recently that the Web is so overflowing with terrific free digital scrapbooking designs, it can provide virtually any type of images you might need. And she’s an authority on quality images; products with her graphics sell like crazy!
The following are some samples of the types of free scrapbooking materials I’ve found on the Internet:
Antique
More and more people seem to be searching for.vintage scrapbook embellishments. That could be because vintage art is so timeless and creates such classy results. Cards from times long gone make terrific vintage scrapbooking embellishments, as do clip art images from years gone by. And if you’re lucky enough to find vintage designs on digital scrapbook papers, you’ll have the best of both worlds. Vintage art also covers a range of subjects, including images as diverse as tall sailing ships, vintage travel posters, antique flower baskets, magician posters and Victorian fashion illustrations. So whatever the topic of your scrapbook, there’s probably antique art to match.
Holidays
The holidays just naturally invite the creation of scrapbooks, since those are the times we gather with friends and family to create special memories. And Christmas, Easter, Halloween and Valentine’s Day aren’t the only holidays that make people want to create scrapbooks; many people are interested in the minor holidays too. You can find lots of patriotic scrapbooking papers and embellishments on the Web for holidays such as Veterans Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Flag Day. There are also images suitable for Earth Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and just about any other holiday you can think of; even the silly or off-beat ones.
Butterflies and Flowers
People who scrapbook seem to love flowers of all kinds, and why not? They work for nearly any occasion. Butterflies, too, have a large audience, because they represent summertime, freedom, happiness and other cheerful things. Flowers and butterflies are also diverse, because you can find them in both illustration and photographic form, and in modern and vintage forms. There are even flower scrapbook papers that have many coordinating designs available in the same collections.
Wedding Images
Scrapbooks and weddings are a natural combination, because wedding photo albums have always been traditional anyway. But if you can make it a wedding scrapbook instead, you can preserve your memories in an even more creative way. There are many good free wedding scrapbooking embellishments online that will allow you to create a lasting memento for little or no cost. And if you can’t find any specifically for weddings, flower images would also be a great choice.
Babies
Like weddings, the birth and growth years of a baby often generate a lot of pictures. And what scrapbooker wouldn’t want to pass down a beautiful baby scrapbook to her child as he or she gets older? Fortunately, you can find a huge selection of scrapbook graphics for babies. If you haven’t looked at baby images for a while, though, you might find the color schemes a little surprising these days. Burnt orange, chocolate brown and red are all the rage, as well as a few specific shades of green. Of course, you can still find lots of blue and pink, it’s just that you can find a lot of bolder color choices too.
So the next time you go looking for scrapbooking designs, check out what’s available on the Web. You might be pleasantly surprised at the free images you’ll find.
